Why UPF 50+ Matters
Skin remembers sun exposure — even when we don’t. The sun is responsible for up to 80–90% of visible skin aging, and daily exposure — even on cloudy days — quietly adds up over time.
UPF 50+ fabric blocks over 98% of harmful UVA and UVB rays — the rays most responsible for premature aging and visible skin damage. Unlike sunscreen, permanent UPF protection doesn’t wear off, wash out, or require constant reapplication. It works quietly in the background, providing consistent coverage throughout your day.
Thoughtful, wearable protection helps preserve your skin’s health and appearance — season after season.
Sun protection is skincare. Prioritize your skin health and make it pretty. Wear Heliades UV Protection Arm Sleeves as part of your daily skincare routine. See our entire Sun Gauntlets Collection.

Hand Gloves
Measure your hand circumference across your knuckles to determine your hand size.
The average female hand has a 7” circumference across the knuckles, and the male hand is 8.6” across.
Our hand gloves will stretch to accommodate up to 10.5” hand circumference, and the wrist opening stretches up to 9.5" wide which is why we think our gloves will fit most hands.

UV PROTECTION ARM SLEEVES
Frequently Asked Questions
Sun Gauntlets are UPF 50+ UV protection arm sleeves with a fingerless design that shield your arms and hands from harmful UV rays without sunscreen -- and they're pretty enough to wear every single day. Made from permanent, OEKO-TEX® certified fabric with titanium dioxide woven directly into the fiber, they deliver consistent sun protection that won't wash out, designed for driving, walking, and travel.
Yes, ours do. Our fabric is independently tested and certified UPF 50+, blocking over 98% of UVA and UVB rays -- the highest rating available. Unlike sunscreen, this protection is permanent and won't wash out, fade with wear, or require reapplication. It works every time you put them on and takes the guesswork out of sun protection.
Yes. Sun Gauntlets are made from buttery-soft, lightweight four-way stretch fabric that moves with you and feels gentle against the skin. The flat, raw-cut seamless construction eliminates upper-arm bulging or binding, and the tag-free finish means nothing to irritate or itch. Most customers say they forget they're wearing them.
Absolutely. Sun Gauntlets are designed with driving in mind. The lightweight fabric stays cool in the car, and the permanent UPF 50+ protection shields your arms and hands from UV rays even through the windshield. All without sunscreen.
Measure the widest part of your forearm just below the elbow and your bicep circumference. Sun Gauntlets come in Small, Medium, and Large -- refer to the Size + Fit Guide above for exact measurements. The fabric has generous four-way stretch and accommodates a range of fits. We encourage you to choose based on whether you prefer a snug or slightly looser feel.
Most sun sleeves use topical UV treatments that degrade and wash out over time. They're less expensive because they don't last. Sun Gauntlets are made from permanent UPF 50+ fabric with titanium dioxide integrated at the fiber level, handcrafted in California using OEKO-TEX® certified materials tested for over 1,000 harmful chemicals. The vivid colors and exquisitely detailed prints are more costly to produce than basic sun protection fabric — but they're also why you'll love to wear them every day. You're not buying a seasonal accessory. You're investing in beautiful daily armor that protects your skin for the life of the fabric.
Consider what you spend on sunscreen over time -- tubes that run out, expire, stain your clothes, and require daily reapplication. Sun Gauntlets eliminate that cost and effort entirely. No more wondering if it's working. One pair lasts years, protects every time you wear them, and looks good doing it. For women who are serious about their skin, the math works out clearly in favor of a quality UPF garment. All you have to do is put them on.
Yes, in fact all Heliades UPF clothing is made in the USA. Every pair of Sun Gauntlets is handcrafted in the San Francisco Bay Area, California, using OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified fabric independently tested and free of harmful chemicals and heavy metals.
Another reason to feel good
The fabric, trim, tape and tags in every pair of our UV protection arm sleeves are sourced from certified Bluesign and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 partners actively working to reduce the fashion industry's environmental footprint. And, our thread is OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified, too.
Safe for your skin, better for the environment.
