DESIGNER'S STATEMENT
I started designing my own sun protection solutions with technical UV fabrics because I couldn't find anything on the market I'd consider wearing every day with my street clothes. I do not want to look like I'm going to the beach when I'm going to the office! And despite good intentions, it's hard to remember to reapply sunscreen every two hours and I don't like waiting 20 sticky minutes for it to absorb (chemical sunscreen).
I envisioned an elegant design I could quickly and neatly put on when I need UV protection from sun exposure; designs that are versatile to wear with dresses or jeans that I can wear every day in real life settings. I created HELIADES for sun conscious women - be it for safe skin health or for anti-aging optimization.
My aesthetic is a mod 60s Audrey Hepburn vibe mixed with the rebel heart of a punk rocker, then fused with a layer of practical functionality for modern, real women. I truly believe women rock the world. I think for us to be and give our best we need to take care of ourselves. It's never too early nor too late to start taking care of your skin! I am absolutely passionate about healthy skin. I try to live a fit + healthy lifestyle, and am teaching my four kids to do the same.
